As an elite athlete I was always looking for the best training around especially after 2 ACL reconstructions. I had been to a handful of places and worked with a number of different athletic trainers over the years, so when I heard positive things about BREAKTHRU, I was very excited to get started.

I had just come back from my second ACL injury and was ready to get back on the field fast. I am a member of the women’s lacrosse team for the University of North Carolina. We are ranked top in the nation and I knew I was about to start playing with the best athletes in the country. BREAKTHRU was the greatest tool to get me ready. I started at Breakthru to get faster, stronger, and better before returning back to UNC and Breakthru gave me what I was looking for and more.

I began working with Keith Scott and he created an amazing program specific to my sport and he put me through an amazing training program. Each week I could see results. Our goal was to not only have me back to UNC ready…but ready to be the most fit on my team. After a few weeks the results were so evident. I was significantly stronger and more fit than I had ever been in my life.

BREAKTHRU has so much to offer and gave me so much more than I thought. I had no idea how much I could accomplish in such a short amount of time working with an athletic trainer. Working with Keith and his program put me at my highest level and I developed more as an athlete at Breakthru than anywhere else. Being quick and strong are two vital parts of my athleticism, and after working out BREAKTHRU it was clear to my coaches and teammates that I had reached a new level of fitness. In addition to being in shape, I had rehabbed throughout my program at BREAKTHRU. The workout plan I was on was not only about being in shape, but also staying healthy and keeping my knee strong. BREAKTHRU has allowed me the ability to be injury free and my knee feeling great! I am so thankful for my experience at breakthrough and working with Keith Scott. Without BREAKTHRU, I would not be competing out on the lacrosse field and one of the most fit Tar Heels at UNC. Thank you BREAKTHRU!

Anthony and Nicholas train with Keith Scott at BREAKTHRU Physical Therapy and Sports Training. Anthony began in May 2007. He plays high school baseball as a pitcher and infielder. We were looking for a program to properly condition him in preparation for an aggressive baseball schedule of high school ball, and to compete in tournament and showcase baseball with his travel teams. Nicholas grew 6-7 inches in a less than a year, and experienced some growing pains. He plays tournament and travel baseball.

For Anthony, Keith performed a complete exam/evaluation of his physical condition, flexibility and strength. He discussed his overall conditioning goals as well as his baseball goals. He then designed a program to address the areas that needed improvement and to enhance the areas that were already strong. The program focused on the physical needs of the baseball athlete, especially the extreme demands of a pitcher.

For Nicholas, Keith also performed a complete exam/evaluation and discussed his overall conditioning and baseball goals. He designed a program to first address overcoming the growing pains in the hip flexor area and also to address the instabilities from rapid growth spurts. He blended in overall conditioning and strength training, as well as focused the program on the physical demands of playing baseball, especially pitching.

He has a great rapport with the athletes. The workouts are very aggressive and vigorous. Anthony and Nicholas really enjoy his workouts. Keith emphasizes the importance of flexibility and is always conscious of safety and injury prevention. As part of the stretching routine, Keith also performs deep muscle releases to relieve intra-muscular knots that are not always noticeable. Keith’s expert technique safely eliminates these knots before they can hinder performance, or lead to injury.

Both boys have achieved great improvement in physical strength and overall conditioning. They have also realized noticeable gains in key areas of their sports performance. They continue to train with Keith in 2008. Based on our good experience, we have referred other athletes to BREAKTHRU for training. BREAKTHRU’s facility is well equipped and the entire staff is friendly and helpful.

BREAKTHRU for the work they have done with our son (Quinton Miller) in overcoming a shoulder injury he suffered in the spring of 2007. Being an athlete can be incredibly satisfying, however it can be just as devastating when injury occurs. Thankfully, we found BREAKTHRU last summer and it really started our son on the road to recovery. Keith did a great job of working with Quinton to develop a strength and conditioning program that fit his needs as a pitcher. After a steady regiment of weekly workouts over the last 6 months, the results have been tremendous! Not only does it look like his shoulder is in great shape, the real gain for Quinton has been that he now understands the importance of training, nutrition and the dedication it takes to be an athlete.
Thanks Keith, you have been a great mentor to Quinton in more ways than one!
