Results of the University of Texas Health recorded data for eight years on the effects of diet soda:
- Nearly all the obesity risk from soft drinks came from diet sodas.
- Sweet taste from diet soda elicits an insulin spike, which blocks your ability to burn fat.
- Artificial sweeteners found in diet soda disrupt satiety, the feeling of being full, thus making us eat more.
- A 41 % increase in risk of being overweight for every can or bottle of diet soft drink a person consumes each day
